Fund overview and investment objective

The investment objective of the Fund is long term capital growth. The Fund aims to achieve this objective by investing in a concentrated portfolio of European (ex-UK) equities. The portfolio will consist of no more than 30 holdings.

The fund’s main investment features include

• The fund manager has an excellent long term record of investing in European companies.
• The fund manager’s remuneration is closely aligned with the performance of the fund.
• The fund targets companies that the wider market has disregarded and could be undervalued.

Fund’s investment strategy

• The fund holds a concentrated list of 30 stocks and has little regard for the markets composition.
• The fund manager undertakes intensive research on companies in the process of transition.
• The fund manager takes a 3-5 year view on stocks meaning he should add significant value over the medium term, especially in a market nowadays focused on more short term factors.

Fund Manager profile

Rod Sleath is the manager of the Continental Europe Focus Fund and has over 13 years of European equity experience. He joined Collins Stewart in November 2001. Rod is assisted by two analysts: William Lamond – 5 years of European equity experience and Howard Phillips – 4 years of European equity experience. Prior to joining Collins Stewart Rod worked for Platinum Asset Management, Goldman Sachs and Phoenix Asset Management Partners. Over his tenure as a portfolio manager Rod has outperformed European markets handsomely through a focused investment strategy.
